HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06172014 - C.61RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74-225-5(6) with Laura Sousa, MFT, a corporation, effective April 1, 2014, to amend Contract #74-225-5(5), to increase the payment limit by $30,000, from $135,000 to a new payment limit of $165,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 50% Federal Medi-Cal funds and 50% State General Funds. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 21, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-225-5(5) with Laura Sousa, MFT for the provision of Medi-Cal specialty mental health services, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring Medi-Cal specialty mental health services will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
