HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06172014 - C.59RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with DFM Associates to extend the term expiration from June 30, 2014 through June 30, 2016 and increase the payment limit by $350,000 to provide continued license to use the election management system. FISCAL IMPACT: The estimated maximum two-year cost of the two-year extension is $350,000 and is included in the budget for Fiscal Year 2014-15. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa’s Elections Office relies on the DFM Election Information Management System (EIMS) to provide fast, reliable and accurate election processing for Voter Registration, Precincts/Districts, Street Guide, Offices/Incumbents, Extracts/Reports, Poll Workers/Polling Places, Petition Verification, among others. We are required by federal law to maintain voter and election records on an automated voter registration and election management system. DFM is one of only two state approved vendors and systems. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the extension is not approved, we will be out of compliance with State and Federal laws, which could lead to State and/or federal intervention.
