APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director,
a purchase order with Albany Ford, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $115,000, for the purchase and outfitting of four
(4) new Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles for the Environmental Health Division of Contra Costa Health Services (Health
Services), Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The purchase of these vehicles will be funded 100% through Health Services - Environmental Health Permit Fees.
BACKGROUND:
These four new hybrid vehicles are to be assigned to newly hired inspectors in the Environmental Health Division of
Health Services. The job functions of these new inspectors will require them to perform field inspections on a regular
basis. In order to facilitate travel to and from those field inspections, the new inspectors will need vehicles.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without this purchase order, Health Services - Environmental Health will be unable to purchase the required vehicles.
The newly hired inspectors will be unable to efficiently travel to and from the sites which they are required to inspect.
