Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21469 to add two Mental Health Community Support Worker I - Project
positions (VQW7) at salary level QT5 0875 ($2570.07-3123.94) in the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $136,480, including pension costs of
$26,615, and will be fully funded with a grant from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.
BACKGROUND:
The Behavioral Health Division has created a new program in order to support Community Support Workers by providing training in one or
more of the following areas: crisis management, suicide prevention, recovery planning, and targeted case management. This program will allow
the division to establish and enhance training and internship opportunities for potential peer providers with the goal of increasing the number of
peer personnel employed in the public mental health system. These two new positions will be responsible for implementing this new Peer
Personnel Preparation program by delivering trainings, making and maintaining contact with employers with vacancies or high turnover rates,
and identifying and securing job openings that match the training, vocational goals, and skills of clients.
