APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department Director, or designee, to issue
Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 1138 in a amount not to exceed $237,636 to provide domestic violence support
services to California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) participants for the period
December 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$237,636: 100% State funding
BACKGROUND:
This Request for Proposal will solicit responses from community-based and faith-based organization to provide a
wide array of domestic violence services that are tailored to meet the specific needs of the clients served by the
Workforce Services Bureau. Services should

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
include CalWORKs domestic violence liaisons at four Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD)
offices, technical assistance, consultation, and domestic violence identification and skills training; on-site capacity
building and linkages for domestic violence victims to community resources.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Department will not be able to issue an RFP to solicit proposals to provide domestic violence support services.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports all of the community outcomes established in the Children’s Report Card: 1) “Children Ready
for and Succeeding in School”; 2) “Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood”; 3)
