Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-483-4 with Medicomp, Inc., a corporation, effective October 1, 2013, to amend Contract
#26-483-3, to increase the payment limit by $40,000, from $160,000 to a new payment limit of $200,000, with no
change in the original term of December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On January 8, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-483-3 with Medicomp, Inc., for the provision
of cardiac monitoring services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the
period from December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2014.
At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated. The Contractor has exceeded the annual contract payment
limit for period ending December 31, 2013. Therefore, the Division is requesting an amendment to pay contractor for
services provided in good faith during the first year of the contract term.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-483-4 will allow the Contractor to provide additional cardiac
monitoring services through November 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be paid for services rendered through 2013, which
were provided in good faith to the County.
