(100% General Fund) FISCAL IMPACT: This cost is to be funded by 100% General Fund. BACKGROUND: Public Works Materials Management is responsible for the purchase of custodial supplies at most County facilities. With the exception of the hospital and detention facilities, all County buildings receive their allotment of custodial supplies from Materials Management. Orders are faxed to Materials Management and forwarded on to its supply vendor. The current purchase order established by Public Works "piggybacked" Cleansource's Schools of Illinois Public Cooperative (SIPC). This agreement has the County saving 6% below the previous agreement on paper, chemical and liner type items that are regularly used. The initial $800,000 was expended 18 months into the agreement. To complete the three-year term, Public Works is requesting to increase the payment limit to $1,750,000.
