HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.142RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74-174-19 with Bi-Bett, a non-profit corporation, effective March 1, 2014, to amend Novation Contract #74-174-18 , to increase the payment limit by $125,657, from $2,602,160 to a new payment limit of $2,727,817, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, and to increase the automatic extension payment limit by $12,876, from $1,301,080 to a new payment limit of $1,313,956, with no change in the term of the automatic extension, through December 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 66% Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention Block Grant; 11% California Work Opportunities and Responsibilities to Kids, 13% by Assembly Bill 109 and 10% Behavioral Health Reentry Court. On January 14, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74-174-18 with Bi-Bett for the provision of substance abuse prevention, treatment, and testing services, for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014. At the time of negotiations, units of service were based on target levels of utilization. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-174-19 will allow the Division to provide additional substance abuse treatment services and enhancements to Contractor’s AB 109, Reentry Court and SAMHWorks programs through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, persons referred through the justice system will not receive the drug and substance abuse treatment services needed to maintain sobriety.
