Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, to execute, on behalf of Health Services Department, a Blanket
Purchase Order with Henry Schein, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, for the purchase of dental
supplies, equipment, and repairs for Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers for the period from May 1,
2014 through April 30, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% budgeted in Enterprise Fund I
BACKGROUND:
The Dental Clinics at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers all purchase dental
supplies primarily from Henry Schein and have done so for many years. This vendor provides an institutional
discount as well as prompt service. The vendor’s representative also makes sure that Health Services receives all
additional discounts available.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve this Purchase Order will impact the ability of CCRMC to provide adequate dental care to patients.
