APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with
Steve Gray, dba Steve Gray Consulting and Training, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, to provide domestic
violence consultation services for the period July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$100,000: Administrative Overhead (10% County; 45% State; 45% Federal)
BACKGROUND:
Domestic Violence (DV) consultant provide domestic violence case-specific consultation, guidance, and support to
EHSD Children and Family Services (CFS) staff, enhancing the collaboration between Children and Family Services
and other agencies addressing domestic violence and developing interventions which include safety plans for family
members affected by violence. Services include assisting with lethality assessments, resource information, interfacing
between CFS and other agencies, assisting CFS staff on home visits, ongoing CFS staff domestic violence training,
developing protocols, procedures, training materials and assessment tools for staff use, and serving on the Domestic
Violence Workgroup and other committees.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Important services cannot be provided.
