HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.100RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Agreement #28-856 with County of Alameda, to pay County an amount not to exceed $22,676 for coordination and implementation of the Health Solutions Training and Internship Program in Richmond, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of this performance of this agreement, for the period from December 1, 2013 through August 1, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement will result in a total of $22,676 from the County of Alameda. No County match is required. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing implementation of the Public Health Solutions Training and Internship Program in Richmond. The program is designed for youth, ages 14-19, from low income communities that are most affected by health inequities. Under Agreement #28-856, the County will provide coordination and implementation of the Public Health Solutions Training and Internship Program through August 1, 2014, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of this performance of this agreement. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, low-income young people will not have access to valuable training and experience provided by the internship program. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program will provide training and support for eighty (80) high school students interested in the field of public health.
