HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.98RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Veterans Services Director, or designee, to apply for and accept grant funding from the California Department of Veterans Affairs, for an amount not to exceed $27,000, for mental health outreach and support services, for an eleven month period following the contract award. FISCAL IMPACT: $27,000 California State Department of Veterans Affairs, Prop 63. No County match. A portion of Proposition 63 is disbursed through California Department of Veterans Affairs specifically for County Veterans Service offices. BACKGROUND: This grant will provide funding for a monthly live television show to be broadcast on CCTV and streamed on the internet. These shows are intended to showcase all of the veterans resources in Contra Costa County, Veterans Affairs, Concord Veterans Center, County Veterans Services, and veterans service organizations in the community. This program will also allow veterans to call in to discuss issues and ask questions about services. The maximum grant per grantee is $27,000.
