HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.92RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Counsel or designee, to execute: (1) on behalf of Contra Costa County, a contract with Goldfarb & Lipman LLP for specialized legal services in connection with affordable housing program and housing successor agency activities; and (2) on behalf of the County in its capacity as Successor Agency to the Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency, a contract with Goldfarb & Lipman LLP for specialized legal services in connection with County Successor Agency activities. FISCAL IMPACT: Legal services under this contract are billed at a rate of up to $295 per hour. Affordable housing matters will be charged to Fund No. 100300 and housing successor agency matters will be charged to Fund No. 115900. Successor Agency matters will be charged to Fund No. 879100. BACKGROUND: The County requires specialized legal assistance in connection with loans pertaining to the County’s affordable housing program. The Successor Agency requires specialized legal assistance in connection with the dissolution and winding down of the affairs of the former Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency. Working under the direction of County Counsel, the firm of Goldfarb & Lipman LLP can provide services needed in these areas, as requested, in an efficient and cost-effective manner. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County and the Successor Agency would not be able to obtain legal services from this firm. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
