ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21450 to transition one (1) Senior Clerk - Project (9KT7) position
#12605 and incumbent into the Merit system class, Clerk-Senior Level (JWXC) and at salary level 3RX 1033
($2,882 - $3,680) in the Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, transitioning the position of Senior Clerk-Project and the incumbent into the merit system
classification, Clerk-Senior Level, will result in cost saving for CSB. The position is 50% Federal and 50% State
funded and is within CSB 2013-2014 budget. Furthermore, funding for the position is available and will be ongoing.
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau is requesting the transition of
Senior Clerk-Project position #12605 and incumbent into the merit system. The incumbent has met the provisions for
transition from project to the merit system in accordance with PMR Section 1603.1 - Transfer of Project Positions.
Section 1603.1 of the Personnel Management Regulations states that when

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
the Board of Supervisors establishes as regular service a program initially established by the Board for a specific
limited period as part of an approved project, employees who have served in Project positions for at least one (1)
year shall be included in the merit system if the Director of Human Resources recommends such inclusion, the
Board of Supervisors approves the classification and its addition to the merit system, and the employee(s) was
originally appointed to the project position(s) from an eligible list on an open competitive basis.
Human Resources has verified that the incumbent was appointed to a Project position on January 7, 2010 from an
eligible list on an open competitive basis and has served for more than one (1) year.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
None.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Community Services Bureau supports all five outcomes established by the Children’s Report Card: (1) Children
Ready for and Succeeding in School; (2) Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood;
(3) Families that are Economically Self Sufficient; (4) Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing; and (5)
Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families. The action requested
will not have any impact on the children and families served by Employment and Human Services Department,
Community Services Bureau.
