HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.48RECOMMENDATION(S): ACCEPT resignation of John May, DECLARE a vacancy in Labor Seat No. 6 on the Workforce Development Board, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director. FISCAL IMPACT: None BACKGROUND: The Workforce Development Board (WDB) was created pursuant to the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and has responsibility for overall workforce investment policy, a newly mandated workforce investment plan and oversight of the new One-Stop Career Center system. Mr. May was initially appointed to Labor Seat No. 6 on 6/25/13 with a seat term expiring 6/30/17. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Workforce Development Board will be unable to fill this position.
