HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.30RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the purchase of the real property located at 1193 Danville Blvd., Alamo, California for the sum $740,000 in accordance with the Purchase & Sale Agreement between San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District (SRVFPD) and Contra Costa County and pursuant to Government Code Section 25350. DECLARE that this Board on May 13, 2014, approved a Notice of Intention to Purchase Real Property fixing June 3, 2014 at 9:00 a.m., or thereafter, in its Chambers, County Administration Building, 651 Pine Street, Martinez, California, as the time and place where it would meet to consummate the purchase of the real property described therein from SRVFPD. Said Notice was duly published in the Contra Costa Times in compliance with Government Code Section 6063. DETERMINE that this activity is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article 5, Section 15061 (b) (3) of the CEQA Guidelines. DIRECT the Director of the Department of Conservation and Development (DCD) to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk, and DIRECT the Public Works Director, or designee, to arrange for payment of the $50 fee to the County Clerk for filing and a $25 fee to the DCD for processing of the Notice of Exemption. AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to issue a check in the sum of $740,000 made payable to San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. DIRECT the Real Estate Division of the Public Works Department to have the above-referenced Grant Deed recorded in the office of the County Recorder. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% County Service Area R7-A funds. BACKGROUND: On March 13, 2014, the Alamo Municipal Advisory Council recommended that the County negotiate with the SRVFPD to acquire the .70 acre parcel located at the corner of Hemme Avenue and Danville Boulevard adjacent to the Iron Horse Corridor in Alamo for future public use. The County has obtained a modified Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, which included soils testing, from ENGEO, Inc. The report concludes that the property poses no concern for residential or recreational park land use. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would not be able to move forward with the acquisition. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable. ATTACHMENTS Purchase & Sale Agreement CEQA Grant Deed
