HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06032014 - C.02RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order with M-B Companies, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $330,000, for the purchase and outfitting of a new paint striping truck for Public Works Road Maintenance, Countywide. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Local Road Funds (Fund 110800). BACKGROUND: The new striping truck will replace the old striping truck, Unit No. 6815. The old striping truck is no longer cost-effective to repair and needs to be replaced. The purchase of a new paint striping truck will allow the Public Works Road Maintenance crews to continue to work efficiently and effectively with less downtime and repair costs associated with the old truck. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Without this purchase order, Public Works Road Maintenance crews will be required to continue to use the old paint striping truck which could result in greater repair costs and downtime due to the advanced age and condition of the old paint striping truck.
