HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05132014 - C.53RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #76 519-8 with Steven A. Harrison, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $1,050,000, for the provision of professional ophthalmology services to patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from May 1, 2014 through April 30, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On June 4, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-519-7 with Steven A. Harrison, M.D., APC, for the period May 1, 2013 through April 30, 2014, to provide ophthalmology services for patients at CCRMC including, but not limited to, consultation, medical procedures, on-call and clinical coverage. Harrison, M.D. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Contract #76-519-8 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide ophthalmology services to patients at CCRMC through April 30, 2017. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract amendment is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to the Contractor’s professional ophthalmology services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
