HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05062014 - C.34RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the District Attorney, or designee, to execute an Agreement and Addendum with University of University of San Francisco School of Law, including modified indemnification language, in an amount not to exceed $2,000 to fund a stipend for one student participating in the District Attorney's office short term training program for the period May 20, 2013 through June 1, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: The costs will not exceed $2,000. BACKGROUND: The District Attorney wishes to offer a work-study program for students having completed their second year of law school. The office will benefit from giving potential future employees an introduction to different areas of the office and giving training and giving training in the area of criminal prosecution as well as providing support for its employees; while the students will gain important work experience and insight into the practice of criminal prosecution. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The District Attorney will be unable to pay the stipend for one student participating in the District Attorney's short term training program.
