APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the District Attorney, or designee, to execute an agreement with the City of San Jose
for reimbursement of Internet Crimes Against Children Federal grant-related expenses for District Attorney staff to
attend Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (SVICAC) Task Force training events. This agreement will
become effective upon execution and remain in effect until notice of termination.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The City of San Jose has received Federal grant funds, as the lead agency, to assist the SVICAC Task Force to
identify, apprehend and prosecute internet sexual predators who exploit children through the use of computers. The
SVICAC Task Force seeks to enhance the effectiveness of participating agencies by providing investigative training
to participants. The Task Force includes investigators, supervisors, or prosecutors from various local, state and
federal law enforcement agencies who act as partners. This agreement will allow the District Attorney's office to be
reimbursed for training costs associated with participation on this task force.
