On January 10, 2014, the Board of Supervisors and East Contra Costa: The Collaborative (EC2) hosted a forum to discuss the market assessment and to promote the economic revitalization of the Northern Waterfront. The forum was well received and attended by approximately 375 people representing residents, public agencies, and private companies. One of the recommendations identified in the assessment and highlighted at the forum is the continued collaborative effort of the Work Group. Regional collaboration is a building block to a successful Initiative and has become increasing more of a consideration in grant opportunities. To continue the efforts of this initiative, the County and all six cities located in the Northern Waterfront Region are considering resolutions to carry on this work to develop a framework for strategic actions and an implementation plan to help revitalize and transform the Northern Waterfront into a 21st century economic asset. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Resolution is not adopted collaborative efforts will be hindered and grant opportunities will decrease. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No impact.
