APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the
Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County, to execute a contract amendment with Green Visions:
Center for Renewable Energy to increase the payment limit by $15,000 for a total payment limit of $159,000, to
provide project management and workforce development services with no change to the contract term of July 1, 2013
through June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$159,000, 100% Federal; Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge (AMJIAC) Grant.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County is contracting with Green Visions: Center for Renewable Energy to continue providing project
management services to implement the strategies and activities designed to support, strengthen, and expand existing
cluster-based partnerships, to foster advanced manufacturing-related growth, and accelerate high-quality job creation.
This contract was awarded in December of 2012 through the competitive bid process, Request For Interest #497. The
contract is currently meeting and/or exceeding all of the expectations set forth in the current contract. The Workforce
Development Board (WDB) is increasing the total contract payment limit by $15,000 and seeks to use this contractor
to develop an additional resource that will assist the WDB.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Job seekers will have less opportunities for employment in the medical device and bioscience manufacturing industry.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This Contract will support two of the five community outcomes established in the Children’s Report Card, 3)
“Families that are Economically Self Sufficient” and 4) “Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing” by upgrading
job skills and providing opportunity for employment to move toward self sufficiency.
