HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04292014 - C.51RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County Contract #26-508-6 with Liam Keating, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $1,140,000, to provide professional otolaryngology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from March 1, 2014 through February 28, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by 100% Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. No rate increase. The Division experienced a delay in finalizing the contract due to lengthy negotiations taking longer than anticipated. Therefore, the renewal of this contract was delayed, and the Division is requesting a start date of March 1, 2014. Approval of Contract #26-508-6 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide professional Otolaryngology services at CCRMC, through February 28, 2017. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring professional otolaryngology services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
