HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04292014 - C.49RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-641-13 with Advanced Medical Personnel Services, Inc., a corporation, effective April 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-641-12, to increase the payment limit by $123,000, from $800,000, to a new payment limit of $923,000 with no change in the original term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On July 9, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-641-12 with Advanced Medical Personnel Services, Inc., for the provision of temporary professional therapists at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-641-13 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide additional temporary professional therapist services through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, patients at CCRMC requiring temporary professional therapists will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may cause a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
