Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-732-5 with Christopher John Voscopoulos, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective
March 1, 2014, to amend Contract #26-732-3 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-732-4), to increase the
payment limit by $900,000, from $345,000 to a new payment limit of $1,245,000, with no change in the original
term of September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On September 24, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-732-3 (as amended by Amendment
Agreement #26-732-4) with Christopher John Voscopoulos, M.D. for the provision of professional anesthesia
services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from September 1, 2013
through August 31, 2016.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
At the request of the County, Contractor agreed to provide additional professional anesthesia services for the month
of March and throughout the duration of the Contract which will be complete at the end of August, 2016. The
Contractor has relocated to better satisfy the need for additional hours of services to the department.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-732-5 will allow the Contractor to provide additional
anesthesiology services to CCRMC through August 31, 2016.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, patients at CCRMC requiring anesthesiology services will not have access to
Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
