APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director,
a purchase order amendment with Lehr Auto Electric, to increase the payment limit by $150,000 to a new payment
limit of $500,000, for emergency vehicle parts and equipment, Countywide. (100% Internal Service Fund)
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of Emergency vehicle parts is 100% Fleet Internal Service Fund 150100.
BACKGROUND:
Public Works Fleet Services purchases and outfits all emergency vehicles for the County. This includes vehicles from
the Sheriff, Public Works, Animal Services, Probation, District Attorney and Health Services. The Sheriff's units take
up the vast majority of this commodity. Outfitting includes lights, consoles, electrical switching, wiring, and other
hard parts such as partitions, consoles and trunk slider trays. The annual cost for emergency vehicle accessories has
been $116,000 per year, but with the Sheriff changing vehicle types from the Ford Crown Victoria to the Ford
Interceptor, the annual cost is expected

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
to increase. This commodity was originally bid on Bidsync No. 1301-003 and awarded to Lehr Auto Electric. The
purchase order total is currently $350,000. This request is for additional funds needed to carry it through its two-year
term.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this agreement is not approved purchasing emergency vehicle parts from Lehr Auto Electric will discontinue.
