APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the District Attorney, or designee, to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with
University of Oregon School of Law, including modified indemnification, in an amount not to exceed $2,000.00 for
stipend for one (1) student participating in the District Attorney's office short term training program for the period
May 20, 2013 through March 1, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs will not exceed $2,000.00
BACKGROUND:
The District Attorney wishes to offer a work-study program for students having completed their second year of law
school. The office will benefit from giving potential future employees an introduction to different areas of the office
and giving training in the area of criminal prosecution as well as providing support for its employees; while the
students will gain important work experience and insight into the practice of criminal prosecution.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The District Attorney will not be able to provide stipends for the student working in the District Attorney's short term
training program.
