Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-671-8 with Precyse Solutions, LLC, a limited liability corporation, effective July 1,
2013, to amend Contract #26-671-3 (as amended by Contract Amendments #26-671-4 through #26-671-6), to
increase the payment limit by $11,198, from $685,223 to a new payment limit amount not to exceed $696,421, with
no change in the original term of the contract from June 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On July 24, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-671-3 (as amended by Contract Amendment
Agreements #26-671-4 through #26-671-6) with Precyse Solutions, LLC for the provision of temporary medical
coding and tumor registrar services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers
including, but not limited to coding of inpatient

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
discharges, scanning records and entry of codes into the County’s software system, and tumor registrar services for
the period from June 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013.
At the time the Contract was negotiated, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the
Division did not include enough funds to allow the Contractor to provide the services needed through the term of this
Contract.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-671-8 will allow the Contractor to be paid for medical coding and
tumor registrar services requested by the Department, through July 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not receive payment for services previously rendered under this
Contract.
