HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04292014 - C.35RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a purchase order with SSP Data, Inc., on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Department, Information Technology Unit, in the amount not to exceed $199,835 to procure Barracuda Backup computer equipment. FISCAL IMPACT: $199,835: 100% Administrative Overhead (10% County; 45% State; 45% Federal) BACKGROUND: The existing Barracuda Backup system allows real-time backup of data to on-site servers, which then are copied to an off-site storage provided by Barracuda. We currently have two 12 terabyte backup servers. We prioritize the backup process to ensure that critical data is kept in several locations and that all necessary data is backed up off-site. We have outgrown the 24 terabytes of data storage and seeking to upgrade one of the servers from 12 terabytes to 50 terabytes. This will ensure we have sufficient off-site storage to back up all key data for the department.
