HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04222014 - C.88RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-305-32 with Vista Staffing Solutions, Inc., a corporation, effective November 1, 2013, to amend Contract #26-305-31, to increase the payment limit by $1,600,000, from $350,000 to a new payment limit of $1,950,000, with no change in the original term of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On November 5, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-305-31 with Vista Staffing Solutions, Inc., for the provision of temporary physicians for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) than expected utilization, to cover staff workers compensation, vacations and sick leaves, use of temporary physician services exceeded the authorized limits. Vista Staffing is covering for several regular emergency department physicians who have been on extended leaves. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-305-32 will allow the Contractor to provide additional temporary physician services, through September 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, the County will not have appropriate medical staff coverage at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
