HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04012014 - D.6RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution No. 2014/105 approving the Side Letter between Contra Costa County and the Deputy Sheriffs’
Association Rank & File to amends the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County of Contra Costa
and the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association Rank & File (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2016) to delete subsection 27.3 in its
entirety and add the classification of Fingerprint Technician (64VH) to subsection 27.8.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The proposed modifications are cost neutral.
BACKGROUND:
The existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Contra Costa County (County) and the Deputy
Sheriffs’ Association Rank & File (Association) currently provides in Section 27.3 for investigators assigned to the
Investigators Division to receive a flat increase of $218. Additionally, subsection 27.8 provides for Investigators a
5% differential while assigned to the Forensic Services unit. The Deputy Sheriffs' Association requested that the
MOU be modified so that the Investigators receive only the 5% differential and that the Fingerprint Technician II also
be entitled to the 5% differential.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Forensic service differential will not be paid on an equitable basis.
