APPROVE Appropriation and Revenue Adjustment No. 5058 and AUTHORIZE the transfer of revenue from Contra
Costa County Sheriff Department, Marine Patrol Division (Marine Patrol), Fund 100300 and appropriate it to Marine
Patrol, Autos & Trucks in the amount of $50,316.50, to replace vehicle number 8422 as recommended by the Public
Works Director, Countywide. (100% General Fund Reserve for Depreciation)
FISCAL IMPACT:
The purchase of the new vehicle will be funded 100% through the Reserve for Depreciation GL Account of the
General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Vehicle Number 8422 was relinquished to the State of California Division of Boating and Waterways. The
depreciation to be released will be used partially for the cost of purchasing a new personal watercraft and trailer. The
purchase of the new watercraft will be funded 100% through the release of depreciation.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Department of the Sheriff, Marine Patrol Division would be unable to fund the purchase of replacement vehicles
and would be impaired in its ability to enforce laws and regulations in the County's waterways.
