HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01281986 - T.9 T.9 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on January 28, 1986 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson and Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: General Plan Amendment for Center Avenue, Pacheco area This being the time for hearing the recommendation of the Contra Costa County Planning Commission relating to consideration of the Center Avenue General Plan Amendment to the County General Plan pertaining to Land Use, Recreation and Circulation Elements. The proposed amendment is from Multiple Family Residential Medium Density to varying designations including Multiple Family Residential Low, Medium or High Densities, Single Family Residential High Density and Public and Semi-Public or other designations as deemed appropriate, for approximately 42 acres of land bounded by the Grayson Creek Flood Control channel on the east; westerly to Flame Drive, south to the City of Pleasant Hill (Second Avenue) and north to include lands that access on Center Avenue and the multiples along Aspen Drive in the Pacheco area; and Harvey Bragdon, Assistant Director of Community Development, described the site of the proposed general plan amendment, and reviewed the proposal and the recommendations of the staff and Planning Commission. The Chair declared the hearing open and the following per- sons appeared to speak: Mrs. F. Myers, 113 First Avenue, South, Pacheco, a 45-year resident, who stated that she was in favor the the development but is anxious about traffic and parking in that area. Chairman Powers requested the Community Development staff to meet with Mrs. Myers and address her concerns. Joyce Turner, Owner of property on Aspen and Center, announced that she had a reciprocal agreement with the church to park on her property on Sunday and she will park on their property on weekdays, and there would be no parking on the street for this project. There being no one else desiring to speak, the public hearing was closed. Supervisor McPeak advised that she was prepared to support the proposed amendment, but that she concurred with the Chair in deferring decision for two weeks while staff met with the residents. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED THAT decision on the proposed general plan amendment is DEFERRED to February 11, 1986 at 9 :00 a.m. as a determination item, and the Community Development staff is requested to meet with Mrs. Myers and the residents of the area.
