HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03252014 - C.13RECOMMENDATION(S): RECEIVE public report of litigation settlement agreements that became final during the period of February 1, 2014 through February 28, 2014, as recommended by County Counsel. FISCAL IMPACT: Settlement amounts are listed below. BACKGROUND: One agreement to settle pending litigation, as defined in Government Code section 54956.9, became final during the period of February 1, 2014 through February 28, 2014. Angela Pride v. Contra Costa County, U.S.D.C. Case No. C13-4158 EDL (N.D.Cal.). On February 25, 2014, the Board of Supervisors authorized settlement of an employment action brought by a former employee. Settlement in the amount of $125,000, inclusive of attorney fees and costs, was authorized in closed session by a 4-0 vote, Supervisor Glover absent. The settlement became final on February 27, 2014. The settlement amount is paid through the Risk Management Liability Internal Service Fund.
