HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03112014 - C.55RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Alerting Solutions, Inc. increasing the payment limit by $39,967 to an amount not to exceed $3,496,818 for the provision of proprietary software maintenance for the County's Community Warning System (CWS) and extending the termination date to July 23, 2017. FISCAL IMPACT: None. This contract is fully funded by the Certified Unified Program Administration (CUPA) with allocated business plan fees. BACKGROUND: On July 24, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved an Agreement with Alerting Solutions, Inc. A full-service alert and warning company specializing in fixed siren systems and emergency notification systems. Alerting Solutions, Inc., provides support for the Contra Costa County Community Warning System. Due to an unforeseen change in sub-contractors an amendment to the contract was needed to increase the payment terms from December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2013 in the amount of $909 per month. The sub-contractor has been reliable and the Office of the Sheriff would like to continue to use their services for the increased amount of $909 per month through the end of the contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The contract will not be amended. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No impact.
