Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #23-538-1 with TEK Systems, Inc., a corporation, effective October 1, 2013, to amend
Contract #23-538, to increase the payment limit by $770,000, from $100,000 to a new payment limit of $870,000,
and extend the term from February 28, 2014 through December 31, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
In June 2013, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed, Contract #23-538
with TEK Systems, Inc. for the provision of provide qualified, contract-to-hire and/or direct placement candidates for
hard to fill positions in the Health Services Department’s Information Systems Unit, for the period from March 1,
2013 through February 28, 2014.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
At the time of negotiations funding levels and position classifications established were based on anticipated levels of
usage and the projected needs of the Unit. The Division is requesting a retroactive start date of October 1, 2013 to
cover additional costs and add classifications requested by the Unit in order to meet the staffing needs.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-538-1 will allow the Contractor to provide additional
contract-to-hire and direct placement candidates through December 31, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, the Division will not have access to Contractor’s staffing services for hard to fill
positions in the Department’s Information Systems Unit.
