HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03112014 - C.40RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-423-3 with Jenan Al-Mufti, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $145,600, to provide professional psychiatric services for the period from April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its Hospital and Health Centers. Approval of Contract #74-423-3 will allow Contractor to continue providing psychiatric services for adults in the Adult Mental Health Clinics through March 31, 2015. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring professional psychiatric mental health services will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the community.
