APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designnee, to execute a contract
with San Pablo Economic Development Corporation in an amount not to exceed $18,000 to provide training and
support to local businesses on the Americans with Disability Act, including modified indemnification language and
hold harmless clause for any claims arising out of the performance of this contract for the period February 4, 2014
through June 30, 2014 .
FISCAL IMPACT:
$18,000: 100% County Funds
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) received funding from Contra Costa County Department
of Conservation and Development to provide training and support to businesses in West Contra Costa County on the
American with Disabilities Act. EHSD is contracting with San Pablo Economic Development Corporation (SPEDC)
to provide these services because of SPEDC's knowledge of the business in West County.
Because of delays in the approval and funding process, this agreement is being submitted for approval to be effective
February 4, 2014.
