HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02252014 - C.46RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and Authorize the County Administrator, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the State of California, California Arts Council, to increase the amount payable to the County in the amount of $250 for a new total not to exceed $10,000 to provide advocacy for the advancement of the arts in Contra Costa County with no change in the term of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: The County will receive $1,000 to facilitate and coordinate the local Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest. No County match is required. BACKGROUND: Established by the Board of Supervisors in December 1996 as an official County commission and the authorized County partner with the California Arts Council, the Arts and Culture Commission (AC5) first applied for and received funding from the State-Local Partnership Program in July 1995 for fiscal year 1995-1996. Since that time, the Board of Supervisors has designated and reaffirmed the Arts and Culture Commission as the authorized partner of the State-Local Partnership Program of the California Arts Council. The California Arts Council has awarded all recipients of the 2013-14 State Local Partnership Program grants an additional $250 for the purposes of technical assistance, such as training courses or consultants, in-state travel for training opportunities or convenings, educational materials, etc. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County will not receive available grant funds.
