Spooner, Contracts Administrator DATE: January 16, 1986 County SUBJECT: Approval of Memorandum of Understanding 429-632-1 with Contra CostaCommunity College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chairman to' execute on behalf of the County, Memorandum of Understanding #29-632-1 with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center in the amount of $9,000 for the period October 1, 1985 - September 30, 1986 for behavioral science curriculum for residents in the Family Practice Residency Program. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement by the College District will result in $9,000 of State Area Health Education Center funding for the Family Practice Residency Program. This agreement provides 15% of the salary of Dr. John Champlin for professional services to the family practice program. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On November 6, 1984, the Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center for a behavioral science curriculum for residents in the Family Practice Residency Program operated by the Medical Care Division of the Health Services Department . Agreement 429-632-1 continues the services through September 302 1986. This Memorandum of Understanding has been approved as to legal form by County Counsel's Office. The Board Chairman should sign four copies of the agreement, three of which should then be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to Contra Costa Community College District. DATE: January 16, 1986 County SUBJECT: Approval of Memorandum of Understanding #29-629-2 with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the County, Memorandum of Understanding #29-629-2 with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra _Area Health Education Center in the amount of $31,230 for the period October 1, 1985 - September 30, 1986 for a geriatric rotation for residents in the Family Practice Residency Program. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement by the College District will result in $31,230 of State Area Health Education Center funding for the Family Practice Residency Program. This agreement provides 50% of the salary of a psychiatrist for professional services to the family practice program and $380 for educational supplies . III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On November 62 1984, the Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center for continuation of the geriatric rotation for residents in the Family Practice Residency Program operated by the Medical Care Division of the Health Services Department. Agreement #29-629-2 continues the services through September 30, 1986. This Memorandum of Understanding has been approved as to legal form by County Counsel's Office. The Board Chairman should sign four copies of the agreement , three of which should then be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to Contra Costa Community College District . RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the County, Memorandum of Understanding 429-637 with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center in the amount of $12,311 for the period October 1, 1985 - September 30, 1986 for health education/nutrition curriculum for residents in the Family Practice Residency Program. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement by the College District will result in $12,311 of State Area Health Education Center funding for the Family Practice Residency Program. This agreement provides 25% of the salary of Sue Jamerson, R.N. for health educa- tion services and 15% of the salary of Joan Benson, R.D. for nutition education services for the family practice program. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On November 6, 1984, the Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding #29-632 with Contra Costa Community College District on behalf of Delta-Sierra Area Health Education Center for a behavioral science and health education/nutrition curriculum for residents in the Family Practice Residency Program operated by the Medical Care Division of the Health Services Department. The College District has separated the behavioral science and health education/nutrition components into two separate agreements this year. Under Agreement #29-637, the health education/nutrition curriculum will continue through September 30, 1986. This Memorandum of Understanding has been approved as to legal form by County Counsel's Office. The Board Chairman should sign four copies of the agreement, three of which should then be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to Contra Costa Community College District.
