AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to advertise for the 2014 On-Call Grinding Services
Contract(s) for Various Road Maintenance Work, for routine maintenance and repair of existing road pavement,
Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Local Road Funds
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department will use the 2014 On-Call Grinding Services Contract(s) for Various Road
Maintenance Work to provide support as needed to Public Works Maintenance crews for the removal of damaged
asphalt concrete in support of pavement maintenance operations in various locations within Contra Costa County.
The Public Works Department intends to award at least one $200,000 contract, but not more than two $200,000
contracts, to the responsible bidder(s). Each contract will have a term of one year with the option of two one-year
extensions, and will be used as needed with no minimum amount that has to be spent.
