Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation
Contract #74–190–14 with Mental Health Management I, Inc. (dba Canyon Manor), a non-profit corporation, in an
amount not to exceed $209,751, to provide mental health subacute care and treatment services, for the period from
July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31,
2014, in an amount not to exceed $104,875.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides long-term care for adults with serious
mental illness who require skilled nursing inpatient psychiatric care.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Manor), for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, which included a six-month automatic extension
through December 31, 2013, for the provision of mental health subacute care and treatment services.
Approval of Novation Contract #74–190–14 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the
Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County will not receive any mental health subacute care and treatment services
provided by this Contractor.
