HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12172013 - SD.5RECOMMENDATION(S): Acting in the capacity of the Governing Board of the In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority, ADOPT Resolution No. 2013/479 making Government Code section 31870 (Two Percent Cost of Living Adjustment to Retirement Benefit) applicable to employees of the In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority hired on or after January 1, 2014, who become New Members of CCCERA in the PEPRA Tier. FISCAL IMPACT: Implementation of a change in the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to the pension benefit for employees of the In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority who are hired on or after January 1, 2014, and become New Members of CCCERA in the PEPRA Tier, is intended to result in long term savings for both the employees and Public Authority. Employees hired on or after January 1, 2014, in classifications eligible for membership in CCCERA, become members of CCCERA on or after February 1, 2014. (Government Code, § 31552.) Consistent with the Governing Board’s earlier action, adoption of this resolution 2013/479 will effect the change to the COLA for future employees who become New Members of CCCERA in the PEPRA Tier. (Government Code, § 31483.) CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Delay in implementation of two percent cost of living adjustment to retirement benefit. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: None.
