ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21398 to add one (1) Accountant I (SAWA) (represented) position at
salary level ZB5 1332 ($3,885.32 - $4,722.63) in the Auditor-Controller's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action would result in a total annual cost of $96,441, including pension costs of $20,118. Fiscal
year 2013/14 costs will be absorbed by the department. (100% General Fund)
BACKGROUND:
Due to ongoing changes to laws, accounting standards, needs for automation expansion countywide, the functions
and requirements of the Auditor-Controller’s Office have become increasing more complex. The Payroll division is
experiencing this impact, specifically with retirement, payroll, and health plan tasks.
In order to meet these mandatory and discretionary payroll duties for the County, the Auditor-Controller’s Office
requires an additional Accountant I position. This position will be responsible for the additional retirement, payroll
and health plan tasks that have increased and become more time consuming.
