ATTESTED: December 17, 2013 , County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: June McHuen, Deputy cc: C. 26 To:Board of Supervisors From:INTERNAL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE Date:December 17, 2013 Contra Costa County Subject:NOMINATIONS FOR SEATS ON THE FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMITTEE BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) and one At Large Alternate seat. Seat terms are two years. The IOC conducts interviews for the At Large and At Large Alternate seats. On December 9, the IOC interviewed four candidates (a fifth candidate had withdrawn from consideration) for two At Large seats on the Fish and Wildlife Committee. While the Fish and Wildlife Committee bylaws specify that an At Large Alternate may be automatically moved into an At Large vacancy, the At Large Alternate did not submit an application during the recruitment and was unable to attend the interview; moreover, the At Large Alternate seat still has a year left on the current term. The IOC, therefore, recommends appointment of Ms. Jennings and Ms. Gehlke to the At Large seats. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Disapproval of the recommendation will likely result in a gap in representation in the At Large seats.
