HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12172013 - C.01RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order amendment with Crafco, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $180,000 to a new payment limit of $360,000, and extend the term from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2014, for the purchase of rubberized crack sealant and detack solution for Public Works Road Maintenance, Countywide. (100% Local Road Funds) FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the purchase order amendment for the 2013 Surface Treatment Program will be funded by 100% Local Road Funds. BACKGROUND: These materials are used by the Public Works Maintenance crews to preserve the existing County road infrastructure by filling cracks in the pavement to prevent water intrusion. The detack solution is sprayed on freshly filled cracks to prevent the hot crack seal material from sticking to tires of vehicles driving through the work site. This was originally bid for one (1) year with four (4) possible one-year extensions. This request represents the first of four possible one-year extensions. We are asking to increase the purchase order value and the effective dates for this first year extension.
