HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12102013 - C.58RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24–723–71 with Neighborhood House of North Richmond, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $424,617, to provide substance abuse residential treatment and detoxification services, for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $196,522. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 71% by Federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant, 18% Bay Area Service Network, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Forensic Grant, and 4% Second Chance Act. On February 5, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–723–70 with Neighborhood House of North Richmond for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2013, for the provision of substance abuse residential treatment and detoxification services. Approval of Novation Contract #24–723–71 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County residents will not receive the substance abuse residential treatment and detoxification services that they need.
