Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#76-515-5 with Larkin Breed, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $376,500, to provide
professional radiology services for Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from
January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental, and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available.
On January 11, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-515-3 (as amended by Amendment
Agreement #76-515-4) with Larkin Breed, M.D., for the provision of professional radiology services including
consultation,

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
on-call coverage and interpretation of CT Scans, MRIs, Ultrasounds, invasive procedures and plain films at CCRMC
for the period from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2013.
Approval of Contract #76-515-5 will allow Contractor to continue providing professional radiology services at
CCRMC through December 31, 2016.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional radiology services,
which may result in a reduction in overall levels of service to the community.
