Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74–417-3 with Gary Scott Nye, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $174,720 to provide
professional outpatient psychiatric services, for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its Hospital and Health Centers.
On January 8, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-417-2 with Gary S. Nye, MD for the period
from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013, for the provision of professional

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
outpatient psychiatric services for adults in West Contra Costa County.
Approval of Contract #74-417-3 will allow Contractor to continue to provide professional outpatient psychiatric
services for adults in West Contra Costa County through December 31, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient
psychiatric services, which may result in a reduction in the overall level of service to the community.
