HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12102013 - C.11RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer, Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, or designee, to execute Consulting Services Agreement Amendment No. 3 with GEI Consultants, Inc. (GEI), to increase the payment limit by $80,000 to a new payment limit of $1,437,854 and to amend the completion date from May 31, 2014, to “Upon Completion,” for continued design services for the Upper Sand Creek Basin, Antioch area. FISCAL IMPACT: The contract amendment allows for an additional $80,000 above the previously approved contract for $1,357,854, funded by Drainage Area 130 funds. BACKGROUND: The Upper Sand Creek Basin is an important component of the regional drainage plan for the Marsh Creek watershed. (100% Drainage Area 130 Funds) Project No. 7562-6D8518 BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Marsh Creek and in the Sand Creek watershed area by temporarily holding stormwater and slowly releasing it back into the creek after the storm has passed. The Basin has been designed by GEI and is currently under construction. GEI has been providing design and construction support services for the construction of the basin. A contract amendment is necessary to address tasks outside of GEI's original scope that have been assigned to GEI to complete. This amendment provides for the following: a. Reallocation of budgeted funds. b. Additional funds to cover additional work already provided. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the amendment is not approved, the consultant will not be able to perform the additional work, or be paid for it. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
